The reason I missed the NHL all star game this year was because of a heavy snowfall that came and hit the area for a brief 4 hour period. I have been waiting all winter for the snow to stick to the trees and as I laid down on my couch getting ready to watch a peaceful all-star game the snow continued to fall. I left at 4:30pm knowing that it wouldn't be long before the winds would come and eventually knock the snow out of the trees. I had an hour and a half to do a list of photographs in my head and some video.
This is the first location I stopped at. A trail that I new had a nice covering of snow and would give great depth.
I then continued onto Vineland to head to "Balls Falls" where I did 4 different scenes and finished off with video of the falls with lots of water as well as heavy snow it led to some nice video.
The whole time though that I was out I had this scene in my mind. I couldn't wait for the town lights to start coming on. I new where it was going to look amazing. Jordan, Ontario has a beautiful downtown and this evening didn't disapoint. This is also the same photograph that was shown on Global News which I am always greatful for.

This photograph will be in my private collection for viewing at art shows, art galleries and meetings with clients at my house gallery that I am setting up for the spring. It will be released at 30"X45" with no loss of detail or clarity. It will be an amazing piece when printed at that size. I might even do the first print 40X60 Inches. I haven't decided yet. I just know that I love how it turned out.
This evening of an hour and a half I got a total of 12 different compositions. It may sound like a lot to some but basically with where I live. When the weather cooperates which is rare I have to have a list of locations before I head out. I have to know exactly where I am going to be. In winter in the Niagara region it doesn't take long for the snow to go, whether its melting or blowing out of the trees. Thankfully I had 4 hours the other night that it did that for me and I was able to capture some amazing images. Its hard to believe 2 days later the grass was completely bare but then again this is the winter of 2011/2012 which has been a really warm winter.
